The Balanced Bliss Bowl
A high-vibe, high-amino acid meal to feed your brain and calm your cravings.
Serves 2
Ingredients:
- ½ cup dry quinoa (tyrosine-rich, high fiber and a complete protein)
- ½ lb ground turkey (tryptophan superstar)
- 2 pasture-raised eggs, soft-boiled or poached (double dose of tyrosine & tryptophan)
- 1 cup sautéed spinach (supports tyrosine and adds calming magnesium)
- ¼ avocado, sliced (healthy fats for brain health and blood sugar control)
- 1 tbsp pumpkin seeds (tryptophan and zinc for mood)
- 2 tbsp tahini-lemon drizzle (blend 2 tbsp tahini with 1 tbsp lemon juice and a pinch of sea salt, water to thin)
- Optional: A sprinkle of hemp seeds or nutritional yeast for added B vitamins and extra amino acids
Step 1: Cook the Quinoa
- Rinse ½ cup quinoa in a fine mesh strainer.
- Add to a small pot with 1 cup water and a pinch of sea salt.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 12–15 minutes, or until water is absorbed.
- Remove from heat and let sit (covered) for 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork.
Step 2: Cook the Ground Turkey
- In a skillet over medium heat, add 1 tsp olive oil (optional).
- Add ground turkey, season lightly with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Cook for 6–8 minutes, breaking it up with a spatula until no longer pink. Set aside.
Step 3: Prepare the Spinach & Eggs
- Lightly steam or sauté 1 cup spinach until wilted.
- Soft-boil or poach your eggs to your preference (about 6–7 minutes for soft yolks).
Step 4: Assemble Your Balanced Bliss Bowl
- Divide cooked quinoa between two bowls.
- Add cooked turkey, spinach, egg, sliced avocado, and pumpkin seeds.
- Drizzle with tahini-lemon sauce.
